Sven-Olof Janson’s business career began in 1949, when he established his own company manufacturing resistor elements for electrical applications in irons, toasters, hotplates etc.
Business expanded rapidly to include immersion heaters, different types of heating elements for industrial applications, infra-red emitters and other similar products.
Then, a few years later Sven-Olof received a personal enquiry from the Finnish consul in Halmstad about the possibility of building an electrically operated sauna heater. This marked the first beginnings of a company which is now regarded as the world leader in its field.
The Tylö trademark was established back in the early 1960s, when the name first started to become
synonymous with a complete range of sauna bathing products. Today Tylö is a registered trademark in more than 85 countries around the world, where it stands supreme for a wide programme of products where heat, steam and water are the common denominators.
